Assam By-Poll: BPF Candidate Suddho Kumar Basumatary Files Nomination for Sidli

The Sidli seat fell vacant as Joyanta Basumatary of the UPPL who was representing the seat, was elected from the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat.
Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) candidate Suddho Kumar Basumatary, vice president of the party, filed his nomination for the Sidli bypolls Assembly Constituency today.
Basumatary was accompanied by BPF Chief Hagrama Mohilary, former Assam cabinet minister and BPF leader Pramila Rani Brahma, MCLA Derhasat Basumatary, and the President of the BPF Women’s Wing Supriya Rani Brahma and several other party workers and leaders.
Basumatary exuded confidence of winning from the Sidli seat.
He will be contesting against UPPL’s Nirmal Kumar Brahma and Congress’ Sanjib Warle.
The Sidli seat goes to polls on November 13 along with the four other Assam Assembly seats. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.
