Assam: Bongaigaon PHC sealed after two employees test COVID-19 positive

The Bongaigaon Block Primary Health Centre has been sealed after two employees of the PHC were tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, the Bongaigaon district administration has sealed the Bongaigaon PHC.

Babita Basphor and Anupam Thakuriya, two members of the staff at the health centre tested positive for the deadly virus.

With the employees of the health centre testing positive for COVID-19 have raised serious concerns. Meanwhile, 213 people including doctors, nurses and their family members have been put under quarantine at different hotels.

Meanwhile, the Assam health department will be collecting samples of individuals in Bongaigaon district on a random basis for COVID-19 tests.

The move comes after 5 persons were tested positive for the deadly disease in a span of 3 days. Among these, 4 individuals had no contact history with any positive patient.
