Convenor Hatkhowa said the department will focus on strengthening cultural and economic ties with global communities.
The Assam Pradesh BJP has launched a Foreign Affairs Department aimed at fostering connections with Assamese communities across the globe and promoting international collaboration for the state’s growth. The new wing, led by convener Mrinal Hatkhowa, held its inaugural executive meeting on November 28.
Convenor Hatkhowa said the department will focus on strengthening cultural and economic ties with global communities. He also highlighted discussions on addressing international disputes, particularly with Bangladesh, in light of ongoing violence against Hindus in the neighbouring country.
“We are exploring solution-oriented measures to address international conflicts, especially concerning the situation in Bangladesh. However, any action will be contingent upon responses from the Ministry of External Affairs and the BJP’s central committee. Once we receive their guidance, we will take steps in that direction,” Hatkhowa stated.
