The Assam BJP has geared up for the pancahayat elections slated to be held by the end of this year.

Targetting the elections, the party will carry out a 10-day survey in every constituency to assess the ground status.

Meanwhile, Assam BJP president Ranjit Das demanded that the panchayat elections should be held at the earliest.

A crucial meeting in this regard was held at the official residence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who presided over it.

The meeting was attended by top State party leaders including Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, education minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya, BJP MP Bijoya Chakroborty and others.
