Joining the rest of India, Assam has also begun vaccinating teenagers in the 15 to 18 age group against Covid-19 from today.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma formally launched the vaccination campaign at the OIL Higher Secondary School in Duliajan in eastern Assam’s Dibrugarh district.
Notably, Dibrugarh District Immunization Officer informed that around 85,000 students have been listed to receive the vaccine shots.

It is learnt that on the first day, teams from the health department will inoculate around 6000 students in 26 educational institutions across the district.
Accordingly, 28 teams from the health department had been formed to carry out the vaccination drive. The vaccination drive will continue till January 9.
