At a time when the Government of Assam appointing thousands of youths with an aim to settle the ever-growing problem of unemployment, 19 casual employees of Assam Medical College and Hospital have alleged that despite serving for several years as fourth-grade employees in various departments, their jobs have not been regularized.
The employees of whom 9 are ladies also stated that there receives a meager salary of Rs 9000 per month which has been held up for the last couple of months.
The employees further informed that they have met various officials both in Dibrugarh and Guwahati but nothing positive has come out to date.
The employees also said that it has become increasingly difficult for them to maintain their families and lead decent life due to the poor pay.
The employees met Health Minister Keshab Mahanta during his visit to the AMCH and handed over a memorandum to the minister.
