The 200m event will be a test of mettle for Hima Das who finished fourth in heat but managed to qualify by time.

Hima Das finished the 200m Heat 2 qualification clocking 23.47 seconds.

In the women’s 200m Heat 2 China’s Kong Lingwei claimed the top spot by clocking 23.41.

The second and third places went to Kazakhstan Olga Safarova and Kristina Marie Knott of Philippines who clocked 23.44 and 23.45 seconds respectively.

On the other hand, 100m silver medallist Dutee Chand comes first in Women’s 200m Heat 4 and qualifies for the semifinal. She clocked 23.37 in Heat 4.
