Arunachal to host first-ever Theatre Festival on Unsung Heroes

Three different plays will be staged on February 13, 16 and 19 as part of the festival
The first-ever Theatre Festival will be held in Itanagar. The Festival is based on the lives of Unsung Heroes of Arunachal Pradesh. The 3-day Festival will begin from February 13.
Sponsored by the state government, the first-ever theatre festival entails the history of British colonisation and its effects on several regions of Arunachal Pradesh and their struggles for freedom by opposing the British Raj.
The festival commemorates the 75th Year of Independence under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with a special focus on the freedom fighters of Arunachal Pradesh.
As told by the Theatre Festival 2023 creative director Riken Ngomle, who is also a professor at National School Of Drama ( NSD ), there will be three different plays which will be taking place on 13th, 16th and 19th of February, 2023. “With thorough research and analysis, the plays are structured in an accurate manner and to maintain the authenticity, we have hired local actors of Dambuk, Namsai and Longding district to play the roles through auditions at the aforementioned places.” Ngomle said.
