Mithai Marandi, who was shot at by unidentified gunmen in Arunachal Pradesh’s Namsai district on April 26 has succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Eastern Assam’s Dibrugarh district.
Worth mentioning, the deceased was injured while gunmen abducted Dinesh Sharma- the cashier of a fuel outlet at Momong village and opened fire before fleeing. Marandi was injured as he tried to prevent the abductors from taking away Dinesh Sharma.
Meanwhile, there is still no information about the where about of Dinesh Sharma as no group has claimed responsibility for his abduction so far and the police too it yet to locate him.
The entire incident was captured in CCTV camera, following which the security forces launched a manhunt to nab the assailants and trace the abductee.
According to police, three gunmen armed with assault rifles entered the petrol pump premises and took away with them cashier Dinesh Sharma.
If reports are to be believed, the kidnappers while taking away the cashier had asked other employees present at the petrol depot to inform their owner to arrange the Rs 5-crore ransom.
