The call for one Arunachal Pradesh reverberated across the Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium in Yupia as the frontier state celebrated its 50 years of existence today. The occasion also marked Arunachal’s 36th statehood day.

It was grand display of cultural extravaganza as the rich diverse cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh at the venue with unity among tribes and communities being the essence of the festivities. From preserving the state cultural identity and heritage to resolving the inter-state boundary issue with Assam, all key issues found resonance in the historic celebrations.

Attending the official function was Arunachal Governor BD Mishra, Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju. Assam Chief Minister and NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma was the chief guest on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said the onus is on the people of the state to maintain unity among communities. He said that people should not fall to any misinformation or propaganda and must remain united to ensure progress.
