The All Yachuli Students union has demanded immediate clearance of landslide zones from Yupia to Potin that has been left by the authorities in that condition for years, hampering road connectivity.
71 years after India’s Independence, people in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh have been compelled to resort to a dawn to dusk shutdown to try and press the State Government to fulfil a basic demand of proper road to link the people to the outside world.
Emphasizing the fact that the Ziro-II road is a lifeline connecting the four Kurung Valley, Kara Daadi, Upper Subansiri and Kamle districts. The organization has also demanded immediate disbursement of funds which is lying in the local Deputy Commissioner’s account for payment to the locals as compensation for land taken for construction of the Trans Arunachal highway.
The student group said once the compensation amount is paid, the authorities should start the process of construction of the vital Trans Arunachal Highway.
