Aiming to preserve its rich cultural mosaic, the Idu-Mishmis community of Simugi village of Tuting in the Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh is celebrating the Reh festival with great pomp and gaiety.
Celebrated during February, it is considered one of the major festivals of the Idu Mishmi tribe. During the festival, the devotees offer worship to the Divine Mother, “Nanyi Inyitaya.”

The Idu people believe that “Nanyi Inyitaya” is their mother, and they can only get her blessings when they perform the rituals and celebrate the Reh.
Like any other tribal festival in the state, it is observed to seek the prosperity and welfare of families and crops. The traditional rituals, dances, cuisine, and folklore mark the celebrations.
