Thousands of State Government employees under the banner of Confederation of Service Association of Arunachal Pradesh have decided to go ahead with the 4-day strike beginning on October 23.

The strike will be a part of phase-II of the agitation being carried out by the employees against the non implementation of the 7th Central Pay Commission in total in the state.

Although the initial plan was to go for a 4 day pen down strike, the confederation has altered their course and now will be discharging their duties for the first two days but with black badges as a mark of protest.

Meanwhile, the association has condemned the recent statements made by Chief Minister Pema Khandu during a meeting held at Kalakaktang during which Khandu openly threatened striking employees to either fall in line or be prepared to face strict disciplinary action including pay cuts and suspension from job.

Khandu had reportedly also gone to the extent of saying that if need be, his government will not even hesitate to recruit fresh government employees in their place in the greater interest of the state.
