The Arunachal Pradesh District Administration, under the Chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tatdo Borang, started removing unauthorized speed breakers along the National Highway-13 from Ruksin to Raneghat on Thursday, after taking serious note of excessive speed breakers in the area.
The removal of the speed breakers comes a month after a coordination meeting between concerned officials and stake holders was held on July 2018, wherein a total of 33 speed breakers between Ruksin and Raneghat were found unauthorized that hindered movement of traffic on the high-speed corridor.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner, Tamiyo Tatak had opined that the villagers constructed the speed breakers at their own choice to check vehicular speed and no consistent design had been followed in their construction.
