Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday flagged off the first scheduled flight of Flybig Airlines from Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh to the capital city of Assam, Guwahati.
According to a press release, Flybig airlines, RCS UDAN flight was inaugurated today at Tezu Airport, Arunachal Pradesh.
This is the second flight service by the airlines in the state, with flight services between Pasighat and Guwahati which began on May 24.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday virtually inaugurated the flight ceremony from Itanagar. He said this is another glorious chapter in aviation history of Arunachal Pradesh.
“Adding glorious chapter in Aviation history of Arunachal. Flagged off today @flybigairlines flight for Tezu-Guwahati route from Itanagar through VC. Tezu is 7th domestic destination in NE under UDAN, giving boost to regional connectivity as envisioned by PM @narendramodi Ji,” Khandu tweeted.
CM Khandu also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing the UDAN scheme and giving boost to air connectivity in the region.
The ceremony was also attended by state Civil Aviation minister Nakap Nalo, Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao, MLA Dasanglu Pul, AAI Regional Manager along with others at Tezu.
Tezu is the 7th domestic destination in Northeast under the UDAN scheme of the central government.
