Proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh. Artist Chow Saratham Namchoom has been selected for the coveted Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the years 2022-2023 for his incredible contributions in the field of traditional arts and music.
He is among the 80 young artists selected for the Ustaad Bhismillah Khan Yuva Purashkar 2022 and 2023.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated Namchoom on being selected for the prestigious award and expressed his confidence that Namchoom will bring many more such laurels to the state in the future.
Besides, him, Olen Megu Damin has also been selected for the coveted Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, 2022 for her contributions in the field of folk and traditional music and dance.
Damin is among the 92 artists selected for the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards for 2022 and 2023.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has congratulated both the artists and said their artistic brilliance will go a long way in promoting the traditional and folk heritage of the state at both national and international level.
“The cultural tapestry of Arunachal Pradesh gets adorned with yet another glorious feather, as our talented artists earn accolades at the National platform. Heartiest congratulations to the exceptional artists, Smt. Olen Megu Damin and Shri Chow Saratham Namchoom on being chosen for the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award – 2023 (Folk Traditional Art, Music & Dance) and Ustaad Bhismillah Khan Yuva Purashkar Award – 2022 (Traditional Art & Music), respectively.
