The APPSC paper leak scam has been a highly controversial issue, with mounting pressure on authorities to take decisive action.

Seeking accountability in the infamous Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper leak scam, APPSC aspirants, along with the Arunachal Frontier Tribal Front (AFTF), observed Black Day today to protest against the alleged failure of the state government to address the issue.

As part of the protest, demonstrators staged a ‘Pustak Jalaoo Andolan’ (Book Burning Movement), symbolising their anger and disappointment over the compromised recruitment process.

Protesters, including students and concerned citizens, demanded a comprehensive investigation into the scam and urged authorities to take swift action to restore integrity and transparency in the examination system.

The protesters emphasised the need for stringent measures to prevent future irregularities in recruitment exams and called for strict accountability from those responsible.

They emphasised how the APPSC paper leak scam had shattered the aspirations of many deserving candidates and demanded immediate corrective actions.

With growing frustration over the state’s handling of the case, the protest gained significant traction, drawing widespread participation from affected candidates and activists.

The demonstrators stressed that only systemic reforms and fair practices could restore faith in the recruitment process and ensure equal opportunities for all aspirants.

The APPSC paper leak scam has been a highly controversial issue, with mounting pressure on authorities to take decisive action.

On August 29 2022, Gyamar Padang, an aspirant of the Assistant Engineer of AE civil examination, lodged an FIR at the Itanagar police station, complaining that the question papers for the APPSC were reportedly leaked.

The case was initially investigated by the Itanagar police and later transferred to the special investigation cell (SIC) of the Arunachal Pradesh police.

The CBI took over the investigation on the recommendation of the state government on October 26, 2022.

Gyamar Padang died on May 5th, 2023, at the Asian Institution Gastroenterology Hospital in Hyderabad after battling a prolonged illness.
