Around 1,200 displaced persons settled in Kangpokpi shifted to Churachandpur

As many as 1,200 displaced persons from Churachandpur district who were evacuated from Imphal to Kangpokpi district were shifted back to Churachandpur district today.

Many residents of Churachandpur district were among the thousands of displaced persons evacuated to Kangpokpi district since May 5 and they stayed at the various relief camps in the Kangpokpi. The shifted persons include men and women, young and old, children, and a few sick persons. They were transported in as many as 15 vehicles (12 vehicles from Kangpokpi town and the rest from the Motbung area).
