Army arrests one NSCN-K cadre from Tinsukia district of Assam

A self-styled Corporal of the banned Khaplang faction of the NSCN was arrested by the 23 Punjab Regiment on Sunday from Koliajan village under Bordumsa police station in Assam’s Tinsukia district.

The arrested has been identified as Laichat Wangpan. Sources state that the arrested is a resident of Pumao basti in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh and that he had joined the outfit in 2011.

The arrested militant has been handed over to the police for further interrogation.
