Honeymoons Ended in Tragedy: All the three couples began their joyful journeys for life vowing to be together in good times and in bad.
Are stars not favouring honeymooners? Three newlywed couples – Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi from Indore, Ankita and Kaushalendra Pratap Singh from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh and Urakonda Sai and his wife from Telengan – were these three couples star-crossed?
All the three couples began their joyful journeys for life vowing to be together in good times and in bad, they vowed to be together till death do them part. But for these three newlywed couples, God had other plans.
In the case of Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi, Sonam is being accused of killing her husband Raja just 11 days after getting married.
Sonam-Raja got married on May 11 and on May 22 they travelled to Meghalaya for their honeymoon. On May 23, Sonam allegedly got her husband murdered with the help of her lover Raju Kushwaha, and contract killers Akash Rajput and Vishal Chauhan. Raja’s body was found 10 days later on June 2 following in intensive search operation by Meghalaya Police, NDRF, SDRF and locals. But Sonam continued to be missing till she surfaced over 2000 kms away from Shillong in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh.
Sonam and four others are now in police custody.
In the case of Ankita and Kaushalendra, tragedy struck when the vehicle they were travelling in Sikkim fell 1000 feet down into the Teesta River and despite best efforts of rescuers, the couple who were on a honeymoon in the picturesque Himalayan state remains missing even after 11 days.
The couple tied the knot on May 5. On May 24 they left for their honeymoon. But just 5 days later their whole world turned topsy-turvy as while travelling along the Lachen-Lachung highway in the landslide-prone Mangan district, their vehicle plunged 1,000 feet into the Teesta River and there is still no trace of them. We hope they come back home safe.
The third heartbreaking incident occurred at Secunderabad railway station in Telangana. Urakonda Sai, 28, was on going to Goa for his honeymoon. He and his wife were on board the Vasco da Gama Express. During a brief stop, he got off the train to buy water. The train unexpectedly began to move and leave the station. Sai tried to jump onto the train but as fate would have it, he slipped and fell between the moving train and the platform. Despite being rushed to hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
These unfortunate, very heartbreaking incidents serve as tragic reminders that life can take a cruel turn, even in moments of celebration.
