Reports of their troubled relationship surfaced after Sunita made candid remarks about their marriage in a recent interview with Hindi Rush.
Bollywood veteran Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, are reportedly heading for a divorce after 37 years of marriage. Rumours of their separation have been making rounds, with claims that the couple has been living separately for some time.
Amidst ongoing speculation, Govinda addressed the reports in an interview with ETimes. However, he refrained from sharing details and kept his response brief. When asked about the alleged rift, the Hero No. 1 actor stated, “There are only business talks going on… I am in the process of starting my films.”
Sunita Ahuja has not responded to ETimes’ queries regarding the divorce rumours. Meanwhile, Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, acknowledged tensions in their marriage. He said, “There have been issues between the couple due to certain statements made by some family members. However, there is nothing more to it. Govinda is focused on his upcoming film, and we are trying to resolve the situation.” Sunita Ahuja has not responded to ETimes’ queries regarding the divorce

When asked about Govinda’s romantic side, she laughed and said, “I have told him that in my next life, he should not be my husband. He doesn’t go on holidays. I am someone who wants to go out with her husband, eat pani-puri on the streets, and enjoy life. He spent too much time working. I don’t remember a single instance when we both went out to watch a movie.”
A source quoted by ETimes also claimed that Sunita had sent a separation notice a few months ago, but no further action has been taken since then.
Govinda and Sunita tied the knot in March 1987 but kept their marriage a secret until after the birth of their daughter, Tina, in 1988. They later welcomed their son, Yashvardhan, in 1997.
