Andhra Pradesh will add 13 additional districts, bringing the total number of districts to 26.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers will be held on April 7. The meeting is expected to take key decisions regarding the formation of a new team to run the state.

The formation of all 13 new districts is complete and these districts will be inaugurated tomorrow by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.

According to a statement, on April 6, the Chief Minister will honour volunteers who have worked tirelessly across all village and ward secretariats. CM Reddy would distribute “Vasathi Deevana” to beneficiaries across the state on April 8.

CM Reddy held a review meeting at the Vijayawada camp office to assess the reorganisation efforts. A definitive notification pertaining to the reorganisation of the existing 13 districts into 26 districts is expected to be delivered in the coming days.
According to the Chief Minister’s office, four sub-committees were constituted under his direction to ensure a seamless reorganisation process.
It may be mentioned that during the poll campaign for the 2019 Assembly elections, Reddy stated that if his party voted to power, every Lok Sabha constituency in the state will be turned into a district.
There are a total of 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state. One district was created additionally carving out the tribal areas in East Godavari and Visakhapatnam.
