Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a women’s day surprise for the state. Addressing a mega rally in state capital Agartala today Shah declared 33% reservation for women in government jobs in the state.

This is being seen as a massive move to woo the state’s female voters ahead of the Assembly elections next year.

Setting the tempo ahead of the assembly polls Shah also called upon the people to give BJP a second term in the state.

Besides, Home Minister Amit Shah also attacked the Left for widespread bloodshed during its regime in Tripura. Shah claimed that political murders have stopped after BJP came to power in the state. Not only this, Union home minister Amit Shah also maintained that major crimes in Tripura have gone down by at least 30% during the BJP-rule.

Shah also lauded Tripura’s bid to become completely Atmanirbhar.Earlier, upon his arrival to the state on the occasion of the BJP-IPFT government’s completion of four years in office, Shah visited the Tripureswari temple in Gomati district.
