Ahead of NCHAC polls next month, BJP expels 16 party workers

Election to the 28 constituencies of 13th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council in Dima Hasao district of Assam will be held on January 8,2024
Assam BJP has expelled 16 party workers of Dima Hasao for standing as independent candidates against BJP’s official candidates in the upcoming North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) elections.
The order to expel the 16 party workers was issued by Assam BJP President Bhabesh Kalita on Tuesday.
The workers who are expelled candidates are – Lalremthiem Tuolor, Rahul Naiding, Silvias Lalrotlounga Khozol, Paunamsaulakbe Newme, Pauramduing Jeme, Pronen Haflongbar, Punush Nunisa, Bimal Hojai, Hemanta Kemprai, Joysing Durong, Dormen Enghi, Ramgalungbe Jeme, Lalropui Hmar, Saivongril Hrangkhol, Joydesh Phonglo and Herojit Jidung.
Election to the 28 constituencies of the 13th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council in Dima Hasao district of Assam will be held on January 8,2024. The results will be declared on January 12.
A total of 1,41,124 people are expected to cast their votes. Of this, 70,485 are male voters and 70,639 are female voters.
The BJP has fielded candidates in all the 28 constituencies.
