In another boost to connectivity in the Northeast, the Agartala-Jiribam Jan Shatabdi Express was flagged off by Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb along with Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy

In another boost to connectivity in the Northeast, the Agartala-Jiribam Jan Shatabdi Express was flagged off by Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb along with Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy from the Agartala Railway Station on January 8th.

The train will connect Tripura’s capital Agartala to Jiribam in Manipur.

Union Minister for Railways Ashwani Vaishnaw, Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik, and Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh virtually took part in the programme.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration said that three trains will run from Agartala Railway Station every week to Manipur’s Jiribam.

The Agartala-Jiribam Jan Shatabdi will take six hours to complete its journey with stoppages at Ambassa, Dharmanagar, New Karimganj and Badarpur.
