A Delhi-Pakyong-Delhi route by SpiceJet and an Indigo service connecting Hyderabad and Bengaluru are being planned.
Flights from Pakyong Airport in Sikkim are scheduled to resume by March 30 this year after a ten-month gap. According to airport director S.K. Singh, SpiceJet will operate daily flights between Pakyong, Guwahati, and Kolkata under the summer schedule, with bookings already open.
Additionally, a Delhi-Pakyong-Delhi route by SpiceJet and an Indigo service connecting Hyderabad and Bengaluru are being planned.
Ahead of the resumption, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has revamped the airport, including enhancing its surroundings. Pakyong Airport, the sole airport in Sikkim, is expected to boost regional connectivity and convenience for travellers.
This move aims to restore critical air links for the region, benefitting both residents and tourists.
