After 4 days search, missing NF railway officer’s body found in Arunachal river

After an intensive four-day search operation, the body of Suvendu Choudhary, the Chief Principal Security Officer of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), was found on Wednesday in the Lohit River in Arunachal Pradesh.
Choudhary, had been missing since Sunday afternoon after he was swept away by the strong currents of the Lohit River near Parshuram Kund in Arunachal Pradesh.
As per inputs, Choudhary’s body was recovered on Wednesday afternoon around 20 km
Choudhary, 55, after completing official works on Sunday went to Parashuram Kund, a Hindu pilgrimage centre situated at Telu Shati area of Mishmi plateau in Lohit district, along with family and other NFR officials but suddenly slipped into the deep water of the Lohit River and was swept away.

According to sources, Choudhary had travelled with his wife from the NFR headquarters in Maligaon, Guwahati, to Tinsukia for an inspection visit on November 22. The couple then visited Pasighat and Dambuk before reaching Parshuram Kund on Sunday.
Immediately after the incident, search and rescue operations at Parashuram Kund and downstream locations were launched jointly by the National and State Disaster Response Force, the army, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and local police teams. Aerial search operations have also been launched to locate the missing official.
Taking to the Twitter, the official account of Northeast Frontier Railway expressed condolences and wrote, “With heavy hearts, we share the news of the unfortunate demise of Shri Subhendu Kumar Choudhary, Principal Chief Safety Officer, NF Railway in a tragic accident. The entire railway fraternity stands with the bereaved family in this sad moment. He will be deeply missed.”
