Disappointed over the poor investigation and lackadaisical attitude of Itanagar police over the murder case of Ojing Taying, the All East Siang District Students’ Union (AESDSU) convened a press conference

Disappointed over the poor investigation and lackadaisical attitude of Itanagar police over the murder case of Ojing Taying, the All East Siang District Students’ Union (AESDSU) convened a press conference in Itanagar and demanded the state home department to hand over the case to CBI.

Serving a 7 day ultimatum to the government, the AESDSU said that even after a year of the murder of the youth, no headway was made into the case of late Ojing Taying. Yon Taki, who is the Chairman of late Ojing Taying justice demand committee, categorically said that the police department has been lacking to carry out a speedy investigation and therefore they should surrender the case and hand it over to the CBI.

The union further warned that if the case is not handed over to the top investigating agency within 7 days, they will resort to various strikes. Taying was attacked by miscreants on the night of June 10, 2017 at Niti Vihar at Itanagar. He died following the attack by two unidentified miscreants.
