In a tragic incident reported from South Salmara- Mankachar district on Monday, two brothers identified as Dilwar Hussain and Golam Mustafa, went missing after falling into the powerful currents of River Brahmaputra near Hatsingimari village.
Reportedly, the younger brother accidentally fell into the river, and the elder brother bravely jumped in to save him but was also swept away.
Local police and State Disaster Response Funds (SDRF) were alerted and launched a search operation for the missing teenagers. Despite the extensive efforts, the brothers remained untraceable for several hours.
However, the search operation finally came to an end when the bodies of Dilwar Hussain and Golam Mustafa were recovered from the river.
