A border dispute between two villages in Arunachal’s West Kameng district was amicably resolved by the SP of West Kameng in his chamber at district headquarters Bomdila on Sunday.
A dispute relating to border demarcation between Sera and Wanghoo villages in West Kameng escalated into a scuffle between locals of both villages on Thursday.
However, the dispute was resolved by West Kameng SP B Bharat Reddy in his office chambers in the presence of Gaon Burahs of both villages as well as Zilla Parishad members.
At the same time, the village heads also resolved to withdraw all allegations and charges against each other.
A formal deed of agreement was also signed, wherein both parties agreed to maintain peace and tranquillity in their respective villages.
Meanwhile, in a bid to avoid the recurrence of such incidents in the future, Rekha Marphew ZPM Sinchung strongly appealed to the West Kameng district administration for official demarcation of the land between Sera and Wanghoo.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
