The All Assam Students Union has announced that they will be launching a series of agitation programme against the passing of the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
AASU urged the people of Assam to cooperate with the Assam Bandh which was called by NESO on December 10.
AASU further said that they will take out a torchlight rally today in parts of Assam opposing the Citizenship Bill. A torchlight rally was already taken out last evening in Dibrugarh that witnessed mass public participation.
Moreover, a lamp lighting programme will also be organized on the 10th of December. AASU is determined to do anything just to stop tabling the bill in the parliament and if it gets passed, they would burn it.
Addressing a press conference, AASU informed that they would go on a mass hunger strike on December 13 in Guwahati. A road yatra followed by a series of protest meetings would take place in the rural areas on December 14.
