Taking cognizance of the total state of lawlessness in Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts of Arunachal Pradesh, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) has called for immediate expulsion of all militant groups from these regions in the state.
The apex students’ body called on Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday and discussed various issues concerning the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, particularly in the aftermath of the brutal assassination of MLA Tirong Aboh in Tirap district on May 21 by suspected militants.
The students’ union stated that immediate expulsion of all militant groups from these three districts is the need of the hour so that the people of the state can live a secured life instead of reeling under fear psychosis.
The students’ body also demanded for a time-bound investigation by the National Investigative Agency into the brutal assassination of sitting NPP MLA Tirong Aboh and 10 others.
In addition to the improvement of law and order situation, the union also submitted separate memorandums relating to various demands including improvement of education sector in the state.
