The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, which took place today, celebrates the crème-de-la-crème of Television, honouring the best shows and the incredible performances in them, from the year gone by.
Hosted by Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson, Emmys 2022 was held at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California.
Leading the pack at Emmys 2022 when it comes to the nominations is Succession with an astounding 25 nods.
Pretty close behind, we have Emmy favourite Ted Lasso and The White Lotus with 20 nominations, respectively, while ‘Only Murders in the Building’ and Hacks have been bestowed with 17 nominations each.
Looking to make Emmy history is Squid Game, with its epic 14 nominations including Oustanding Drama Series for Hwang Dong Hyuk (also nominated for Oustanding Directing for a Drama Series and Oustanding Writing for a Drama Series) and Kim Ji Yeon.
Lee Jung Jae (Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series), Park Hae Soo and Oh Yeong Su (Oustanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series), and Jung Ho Yeon (Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series) have received acting nominations as well, while Lee Yoo Mi has already made history as the first Korean actress to win this honour, winning the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
If Squid Game Wins Best Drama, it will be the first non-English language series to win in the category.
