6 drug dealers, including 4 women from Bihar arrested in Tripura with 41 kg cannabis

Tripura Police on Tuesday arrested six drug dealers including four women from Bihar. Police recovered 41 kg of cannabis from them. The market value of the dry cannabis is estimated at Rs 5 lakh, said a senior police officer.
Sub divisional police officer (SDPO) of Mohanpur, Bijay Sen who led the operation said that on Tuesday in the wee hours on the basis of specific information, staff of the Lefunga police jointly with CRPF and TSR raided the residence of on Surindra Debbarma and arrested the six people along with dry packets of cannabis.
He added that the women were were accompanied by a man of Agartala. All of them were arrested along with the house owner.
It seems that they intended to smuggle the drugs in small packets hidden inside their luggage to prevent getting caught. They were planning to take the cannabis to Bihar.
The swift action and successful raid of police on the residence of Surindra Debbarma in area have dealt a significant blow to drug trafficking in the area. This operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to crack down on sale and use of narcotics and ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
