Assam Police have recovered drugs worth approximately Rs 10 crore and arrested 5 persons from Manipur in connection with the seizure in Silchar, Assam.
Based on inputs about the transportation of narcotics in the Chalchapra area of Silchar, a team of Cachar Police along with troops of Border Security Forces (BSF) today, conducted a specialized operation in the area.
During the operation, the joint team intercepted a Bolero vehicle. Upon checking the vehicle thoroughly, the team recovered 5 packets containing 50,000 Yaba tablets concealed in a secret compartment.
The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as–Munglian Khup, P. Thangkhan Lun, Dpu Khan Lian, N. Alex Laljahao and Paulianmuan, all from Churachandpur, Manipur.
Investigations into the matter is underway.
