At least 49 people have been killed and several injured in a mass shootout at two mosques in New Zealand’s Christchurch during Friday afternoon prayers.
A total of 48 patients, including young children with gunshot wounds, were admitted to Christchurch hospital for treatment.
According to sources, multiple explosive devices were found attached to several vehicles in the city. While, 4 suspects have been taken into custody, police warned they are still tracing an active shooter.
Meanwhile, Police have urged everyone to avoid all mosques across the country and asked them to stay indoors until the situation got under control.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said it was one of New Zealand’s darkest days, calling the attack an unprecedented act of violence.
