40 acres of poppy cultivation destroyed in Manipur

In continuation to the drive against illegal poppy cultivation in Manipur, a combined team of Tengnoupal District Police, Narcotics & Affairs of Border commandos, Narcotics Control Bureau and police destroyed

In continuation to the drive against illegal poppy cultivation in Manipur, a combined team of Tengnoupal District Police, Narcotics & Affairs of Border commandos, Narcotics Control Bureau and police destroyed around 40 acres of illegal poppy plantations at the Tolhang hill range in Tengnoupal district on Monday.

The operation led by Tengnoupal district SP Thongam Vikramjit Singh, NAB SP W Basu Singh among other officers is a part of the ongoing drive against illicit poppy cultivation under ‘War Against Drugs’, launched by the state government.

With this, Manipur Police along with other departments have destroyed nearly 2,674 acres of illegal poppy cultivation at various hill districts of the state over the last few months.
