Oil India Limited has earned a profit of Rs 1,741 crore in the fiscal year 2020 to 2021. Oil India Limited chairman and managing director Sushil Chandra Mishra stated that the company has earned a profit after taxes of Rs 1,741.59 crore in the financial year 2021-21, which is one of the highest in the recent times. This huge profit margin comes despite the Covid pandemic and last year’s Baghjan oil well disaster.
Mishra was highlighting the achievements of the company at its 62nd annual general meeting held in online mode. The other achievements include acquisition of Numaligarh Refinery Limited with OIL’s equity stake increasing to 80.16%  in the refinery and oil marketing company. With the NRL acquisition, OIL is now both an upstream and downstream corporate.
During 2020-21, OIL’s operational revenue stood at Rs 10,561.45 crore and profit after tax at Rs 1,741.59 crore.
