The Tripura education department on Thursday suspended the holding of regular classes for students of classes I and II for an indefinite period.
State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced the suspension of classes. He further informed that the regular classes for students of 3rd and 4th standards will continue to be held thrice a week.
The decision has been taken in view of the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in the state. Regular classes of students of higher standards and colleges will however remain functional.
The minister further informed that the decision will be reviewed later in an official meeting and a change may be announced afresh, depending on the situation.
