The 3-day long Guwahati Literature Festival kicked off at the NEF College campus in Lokhra, Guwahati. As one of the premier literary and cultural events in Northeast India, the festival brings together authors, artists, intellectuals, activists, policy makers and literary enthusiasts from across the region, offering a platform to celebrate the region’s rich literacy, social and cultural heritage. The Guwahati Literature Festival this year is honouring eminent Assamese writer and Former President of the Assam Sahitya Sabha Dr Nagen Saikia with the prestigious Druapadi Asamiya Bhasa Award reconnising his contributions to Assamese literature and his commitment to promotion of the Assamese language .A key highlight of this year’s festival is the Queens’ Carr Rally, an empowering event that honors women drivers and leaders celebrating their courage, grace and resilience.
