3 Assam Rifles jawans on election duty in Bihar fall into a river, 2 rescued, one missing

They were posted on election duty in Samastipur district of Bihar.

A jawan of Assam Rifles is feared to have drowned in Matiyari Ganga ghat in Bihar.

As per inputs, he was among the other jawans posted on election duty in Samastipur district of Bihar.

After voting for 5 Lok Sabha seats ended yesterday, he along with two jawans went to take a holy bath in the Ganga River.

While taking a bath, they slipped into deep water and started drowning.

Locals acted swiftly and managed to rescue two of them, however one jawan is still missing.

The identification of the jawan is not known yet.

Rescue operations are underway to locate him, said Vikas Pandey, Sub-Divisional Officer Patori.

More details are awaited.
