3 Assam Cops Suspended After Bangladeshi Infiltrator Escapes from SMCH

A case has been registered against the three personnel, and Hailakandi SP Leena Doley has initiated a high-level probe into the incident.
Three Assam police personnel have been suspended for alleged negligence in duty after a Bangladeshi infiltrator escaped from custody while undergoing treatment at the Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH). The infitrator had fled from the SMCH on Thursday.
The suspended officers are Salimuddin Borbhuyan, Prabhat Bora, and Altaf Hussain Saberi. They were deputed to guard the infiltrator during his hospitalization. A case has been registered against the three personnel, and Hailakandi Superintendent of Police Leena Doley has initiated a high-level probe into the incident.
According to reports, the accused Samuddin, who was arrested on September 10 at Dhanipur under Lala Police Station for illegally crossing into India, fell ill and was admitted to SMCH. However, taking advantage of the situation, he managed to flee the hospital on Thursday despite being under police watch.
Operations are currently underway to locate and apprehend the escaped infiltrator.
