As many as 27 persons have been arrested by the police in connection with Monday’s mob lynching case, where a youth from Shillong was lynched by a group of unruly mob at Syntung in East Khasi Hills.
Two other youths were also grievously injured in the attack. Meanwhile, a case has been registered under several sections in connection with the incident.
Efforts are also on to nab the other culprits. Two persons – one a juvenile, and the other a senior citizen, who were first detained, were released later after verification.
