COVID-19 Update: 6 more patients discharged in Mizoram; active cases at 115

Six more COVID-19 patients – 2 from Aizawl District, 3 from Kolasib and 1 from Khawzawl have been discharged in Mizoram on Thursday. The total number of recovered cases in the state now stands at 30 with 115 active cases.

Meanwhile, a statement issued by the information and public relation department said that 29 samples have been tested negative at the Civil Hospital Lunglei Truenat Lab. Another 1157 samples tested at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) lab came back negative on Wednesday.

So far, the number of samples tested district wise are – Aizawl (809), Lunglei (5), Siaha (26), Kolasib (49), Serchhip (4), Mamit (106), Lawngtlai (92), Khawzawl (39), ZMC patient (25). One each from Bihar and West Bengal are currently quarantined in the state.

Earlier, three persons including two females, tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, taking the state’s overall coronavirus cases tally to 145.

Of the fresh cases, 2 patients are returnees to the state from Delhi and Haryana. They are asymptomatic and have been placed under institutional quarantine, while one contracted the virus from a positive patient.

The Mizoram government on Sunday extended the ongoing total lockdown in Aizawl, 10 other district headquarters and containment areas for another eight days till June 30.
