Telangana is on high alert after at least 212 students have been tested positive for COVID-19 on November 2021 with 42 cases reported from a residential school on Monday.
These cases were reported from as many as 29 both private and public schools.
Meanwhile, the health department has requested the education institutes that if more than five cases of Covid detected from a single school shall be reported immediately.
Small breakouts were reported in early September, prompting authorities to take action – urging educational institutions to strictly follow norms.
Approximately 400 Covid-19 cases were reported from residential schools during the second wave of COVID.
The majority of new cases reported in November are also been recorded at residential schools.
However, the cases are currently not particularly serious.
According to the district authorities in the state, there has been a little increase in overall cases in Karimnagar, Khammam, Warangal, and Mahbubnagar.
Moreover, the state education department urged the school administrations to guarantee that all eligible staff received two doses of the vaccination.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
