Two minor girls who had gone missing from Mariani in Jorhat district of Assam last week have been rescued in Bihar.
The duo were rescued by their family members from Bihar yesterday.
As per inputs, they were travelling from Bengaluru to Assam via train. Since they did not have enough money, they could only buy tickets till Malda Railway Station in West Bengal. Before reaching Bihar, they informed their families to pick them up from Malda station. Following which, fathers of the two girls travel to Bihar and rescued them yesterday.
They boarded a train from Bihar to New Jalpaiguri last night and will be boarding a train to Guwahati today. They are expected to arrive in Guwahati by evening.
Meanwhile, the family members of the girls have alleged that despite providing all the information, they did not get enough support from the State Police to locate the girls.
Earlier, they have also alleged that their daughters were with a person identified as Biki alias Huzel Ahmed. However, Biki has refuted having any connection with the case.
The girls had gone missing on February 12.
