The men identified as Abdullah Faiyaz Shaikh alias Diaperwala and Talha Khan, were intercepted by the Bureau of Immigration shortly after they landed and were subsequently taken into custody by the NIA.
Both were wanted in connection with a 2023 case involving the fabrication and testing of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in Pune and had a cash reward of Rs 3 lakh each announced for information leading to their arrest.

The case, registered as RC-05/2023/NIA/MUM, revolves around a criminal conspiracy by a 10-member ISIS sleeper module based in Pune. Eight of the members had already been arrested and are currently in judicial custody. The two newly arrested accused were previously chargesheeted along with the rest, a Hindustan Times report said.
