2 BSF jawans test positive for COVID-19 in Tripura

Two persons from Ambassa unit of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura were found to be COVID-19 positive, taking the total number of positive cases to 4.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb informed that two more positive cases of COVID-19 have been detected in the state.

Taking to Twitter, Deb wrote, “Alert! In Tripura two persons from Ambassa #BSF unit found #COVID19 positive.

Total #COVID19 positive cases in Tripura stands at 4. (Two already discharged, so active hospital cases: 2)

Soon after the confirmation, the concerned authorities have initiated contact tracing efforts and primary contacts have been put under quarantine.

The total number of positive cases in the state has gone up to four, of which 2 have been discharged after they recovered and two active cases remain.

Earlier, on April 23, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb announced that the state has become coronavirus-free state after the second COVID-19 patient was found negative after consecutive tests.

The state’s first COVID-19 positive patient, a 45-year-old woman, who was under treatment at GB Hospital in Agartala, was discharged after being tested negative for the deadly virus. Both the positive patients had travel history by the same train on April 19.
