An 18-member team of Manipur civil society groups under the banner of COCOMI is leaving for New Delhi on Monday for a crucial meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

As per sources, the COCOMI delegation is leaving in two batches. While the first group of 12 members left at 1:30 pm, the remaining 6 members will leave at 2:30 pm.

Meanwhile, the COCOMI’s boycott of the Sangai fest is still on. Confusions mounted on Sunday, on whether COCOMI had called off the boycott but there was no official statement from the organisation in this regard.

Photograph of a hand-written resolution of a purported COCOMI meeting calling off the boycott went viral on social media leading to speculations.

Ahead of their meeting with the Union Home minister a joint meeting of the COCOMI executive and consultative members was held in Imphal. Leaders of the MANPAC or Manipur People Against Citizenship Bill also took part in the meeting.
