17-year-old youth dies at Pepsi’s bottling plant in Guwahati

In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old boy died on duty at a beverage company in the outskirts of Guwahati on Saturday morning.

The incident took place at Pepsi’s bottling plant located in Guwahati’s Rani area. The deceased worker has been identified as Pranabjyoti Hazarika.

As per reports, Hazarika died while working inside the factory.

Following the incident, situation remained tense at the plant. Workers alleged that the work hours are too long and the physical and mental exhaustion was too much for the workers in the plant.

“We spoke to the factory’s general manager, but he tried to conceal the worker’s death inside the factory,” one of the workers said.

The Azara Police arrived at the incident spot and a case has been registered in this regard.

The body has been sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem.
